Children’s song, U.S.A.
“Five Little Ducks (Went Swimming One Day)” is a popular children’s counting song, helping kids learn to count down from five to zero and introducing the concept of subtraction to them, as each little duck swims away. Similar songs are “Ten in the Bed”, “Ten Green Bottles” and “Five Little Monkeys”.
Canadian folk singer Raffi released it as a single in 1999. In Denise Fleming’s 2016 picture book 5 Little Ducks there is a reimagined version of the song.

Teaching Ideas
“Five Little Ducks”, as mentioned on the preface above, can be used in teaching counting from five to zero.
Children could use their fingers to count the ducks on each verse.
You might as well use little toy ducks to make singing even more enjoyable!
