Teaching idea & activities

The children stay on a line or circle with a child in front of them or in the centre, respectively.

On the phrase “Mrs. Macaroni” at the end of the verse, the child chooses a partner. Then, they dance with their hands crossed, while the other children clap and sing their names in one word (ex. Martin + Anna > “Martinanna”, Suzy + Anna > “Suzyanna”, etc.)

In the end of each turn, the child goes back into the line (or circle) and the second one continues by choosing another one as dancing mate.
