“Golden slumbers” is a wonderful lullaby written by Thomas Dekker, an English Elizabethan dramatist. The song’s first edition was in 1603, as it was included in Dekker’s play Patient Grissel.

The Beatles used part of “Golden slumber” in their song of the same name.

“Golden slumbers” lyrics

1. Golden slumbers kiss your eyes,
Smiles awake you when you rise;
Sleep, pretty baby, do not cry,
I will sing a lullaby.

2. Cares you know not, therefore sleep
While over you a watch I’ll keep
Sleep pretty darling, do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby.
