“Joy to the World” is a popular American Christmas song and the most-published Christmas hymn in North America. Originally it’s a poem written by Isaac Watts in 1719, where the author created a modern interpretation of the Psalm 98. Almost a century later (1839) the poem was set to music by Lowell Mason.
