An Easter Hallelujah – Song Information
“An Easter Hallelujah” is a one more of the numerous versions of the well known and beloved song “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. Kelly Mooney, a P.E.I. musician, rewrote the lyrics to narrate the Easter Holy story and received copyright permission to record the song in 2010.
The song became a huge success initially through its video on Youtube, picking up more than a million views in four years’ time. In 2011, Mooney included it in her album “Tomorrow”, that led to her winning of the Music PEI Country Recording in 2012.
This easter version, inspirational as it is, has moved thousands of people and has by all means enhanced the territory of modern Christian music making and song writing.
