Lyrics
Here comes Mrs. Macaroni,
Riding on her big fat pony,
Here she comes in all her glory,
Mrs. Macaroni
Rum tum, rum tum, Martinanna,
Rum tum, rum tum, Martinanna,
Rum tum, rum tum, Martinanna,
Mrs. Macaroni.

Teaching idea & activities
The children stay on a line or circle with a child in front of them or in the centre, respectively.
On the phrase “Mrs. Macaroni” at the end of the verse, the child chooses a partner. Then, they dance with their hands crossed, while the other children clap and sing their names in one word (ex. Martin + Anna > “Martinanna”, Suzy + Anna > “Suzyanna”, etc.)
In the end of each turn, the child goes back into the line (or circle) and the second one continues by choosing another one as dancing mate.
