“Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” is an English lullaby, one of the most popular nursery rhymes and lullabies for babies. It is based on the French melody “Ah vous dirai-je, Maman“. The Twinkle Twinkle Little Star lyrics are adapted from Jane’s Taylor poem “The Star”.
Besides being known as a baby sleep song, its melody is also popular with different lyrics as “Baa Baa Black Sheep” and as “Alphabet song”. Mozart used this theme to compose a piano piece that consists of twelve variations.
