“Twinkle, Twinkle Little star” is one of the most popular nursery rhymes and lullabies for babies.
Lyrics are based on poem “The Star”, written by English Jane Taylor. Her poem included in a collection she published with her sister in 1806. Music comes from the French tune “Ah! vous dirai-je, maman”. The melody, older than the poem, published in 1761.
Mozart has composed a piano arrangement by composing 12 Variations for the French song.
Two more children’s songs, “Baa, Baa, Black Sheep” and “Alphabet song” are based on the same tune.
