This piece, in 4/4 and in the major scale, is of moderate difficulty, approximately at the second beginner level. The reason is that the melodic movement demands several changes of mallet positions. We present here the piece in the F major key. The range of the song is an octave plus one more note (C – D’) and B♭ is used. As the last phrase (before Da capo) ends in C, there is a natural – instead of a flat – B.
Watch the video a couple of times and study each part at your own pace until you get the hang of it. Remember to use both mallets as much as you can. For this purpose avoid using only the hand that is more convenient for you (e.g. the right one if you’re right-handed) as this an important basic technique.
