“Star Wars – Main Theme” is a theme composed by John Williams for the epic film “Star Wars”. The film, written and directed by John Lucas, made history as one of the most popular movies of its genre. Williams’ music played its part in the film’s popularity and was the composer’s biggest success to date.

Arrangement Details
The piece is great for practicing the triples, since they characterize the rhythmic pattern of the main theme. Although at first glance the sheet music may seem complex for beginners, the clarity of C major and the 4/4 time signature make it quite simple.
We suggest that the more advanced student take on the Alto xylophone part since in measures 12 – 20 it has a more demanding passage with accidental notes of the descending natural C minor (B♭, A♭ and E♭). Generally the melody is shared between the Soprano and Alto xylophone, while the other instruments complete harmony, bass and melodic lines.
As for the percussion ensemble arrangement, we would note that it requires 9 players, a marimba with 5 octaves, 2 timpani and is aimed at advanced level students.
